When algae strikes, it must be dealt with sooner rather than later. This means a combination of shock chlorination and the addition of algaecide. After the algae is destroyed, the pool may still remain cloudy. This is caused by the dead algae spores remaining in the water. All filters, including D.E. filters are challenged to remove these 4 micron nuisances. Fiber Clear with 2 micron filtration will usually clear up the cloudiness overnight. As the spores are removed, loading on the filter increases. It will become necessary to backwash based on pressure gauge readings, usually, 10 PSI above clean filter pressure.
Recharge with Fiber Clear after cleaning. Use Fiber Clear as a continuous preventive treatment throughout the pool season.
